Under the patronage of the Rafic Hariri Foundation, the Center for Research & Training (C R T) held its Seventh Professional Day (PD 7) on Wednesday, January 23rd , 2009. The day was considered as a tribute to former P.M. Rafic Hariri as this year marks the 25th year on the establishment of HHS 2. PD 7 entitled: "A School with Positive Climate" was attended by around 250 teachers from schools affiliated with Rafic Hariri Foundation which included:
• Hariri High School II (Beirut)
• Hariri 3 School (Beirut)
• RaficHariri High School (Saida)
• Houssam Eddine Hariri High School (Saida)
• Hajj Bahaaeddine Hariri School (Saida)
The professional Day was comprised of 20 workshops and 1 keynote speech. The workshops were presented by teachers of Hariri High School II, Hajj Bahaa Eddine Hariri School and Houssam Eddine Hariri High School. The keynote speech entitled: "مدرسة ذات مناخ تربوي إيجابي: تجربة ثانوية حسام الدين الحريري” " was presented by Mrs. Hanadi Jardali, principal of Houssam Eddine Hariri High School.
PD 7 kicked off by an opening ceremony which included the national anthem, a documentary movie dedicated to P.M. Rafic B. Hariri and another that focused on HHS 2 as a school with positive climate. Two mini-speeches were delivered. The first was delivered by Mrs Basima Baasiri, principal of HHS 2 who welcomed the audience and highlighted the value of positive school climate and its impact on student achievement . The other mini-speech was delivered by Mr. Moustafa Zaatari, Director General of the Rafic Hariri Foundation who emphasized the leading role of the Foundation in serving the Lebanese community under the supervision of Mrs. Nazek Rafik Hariri. He thanked HHS II for its continuous efforts in introducing innovations into the realm of education.
The event was hosted by 22 ushers who are grade 11 & 12 students as well as some Alumni. The ushers modeled a very high code of professionalism in terms of dealing with guests. Their contribution to the day helped make it a real success.
